Dr. McCalla joined REACH in December of 1995, and as a flight physician, performed many missions. In 1998 Dr. McCalla became the assistant medical director under REACH founder, Dr John McDonald. In 2000, Gary became Medical Director and continues to fly with flight crews as a mentor. In 2009, Gary was promoted to Chief Medical Officer with responsibility for the overall management of our associate and regional Medical Directors.
Dr. McCalla is a residency-trained and board-certified emergency medicine specialist, who also works clinically at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital's emergency department. He completed his residency at Highland General Hospital in Oakland, California.
