Going Above & Beyond
The efforts of the REACH teams who are on the scene doing their job are truly appreciated. Below are just a few
excerpts from letters we have received from those who we have transported or from the loved ones of those
transported:
"Attention: Flight Crew of Saturday night. Thank you! God has blessed me with the gift of my beautiful
daughter...again. Thank you for saving her life and for taking such good care of her. I am forever grateful."
"Fourteen years ago, my four year old little boy was transferred by helicopter from Vallejo Kaiser
to Children’s Hospital. To this day, we still have the bear you gave him. Thanks to you he is graduating. Thank you."
"My introduction to REACH occurred at Duncans Mills where I was camping for the weekend. I had never been to
a Civil War Reenactment, so when I found out I had an opportunity to see one there, I walked over and stepped back in
time. What an experience! But even more awesome was what happened while I was witnessing a staged battle. Amidst muskets
flying and cannons going off, troops descended from the hills, and the attack raged until a horse caught a hoof in a
gopher hole and went down on top of its rider. The rider was badly hurt and the battle came to a halt. The medic truck
arrived, pulled by horses. Then a beautiful, right red REACH helicopter circled above and landed. They airlifted the
injured person to the hospital. Then the battle resumed. The time warp left us all overwhelmed. I will never forget
REACH and the part you played that day."
"You flew our granddaughter from Santa Rosa to Oakland Children's Hospital. It was a matter of life or death. We
want to THANK YOU SO MUCH. May God bless all of you for the wonderful services that you provide."
"Because of the wonderful personnel at REACH, my 21 year-old son is still here with us today. Had it not been for the
quick action and decision making skills of your crew on that fateful night, he would not have received the life-saving
operation in time. We are grateful for the service and care you provide our community."
"I wish to thank everyone involved in the transort of my son. I cannot express in words what it meant to have him home
for Christmas. He is now at home with his wife and eight month-old daughter. It was so refreshing to receive this kind
of service from total strangers with whom we were 'thrown together' due to tragic circumstances. You did what you said
you would do -- with honesty, kindness, courtesy and compassion. My son's family and I are forever grateful."
"Thanks to your transportation services, my daughter wsa saved. She is living a joyous life, fully recovered from her
ordeal. We will never forget your role in this."
"I am a family doctor working in a very rural clinical in northern California. I am writing to commend and thank
your staff who saved the life of one of my patients. He was quite unstable when REACH arrived. All the members of your
team performed their roles professionally and with grace, while talking to the patient in a comforting and
compassionate manner. They also tolerated a country doctor looking over their shoulders while they worked. I am
impressed with their abilities and extremely thankful for their presence."
"I wanted to pass on our gratefulness for all your hard work to save our little daughter's life. We celebrated her
second birthday this April. She is once again a very active and thriving two year old. We are so thankfull for this
little miracle, her life and that she is with us. You helped us in a very dark hour when her situation was grave.
We appreciate it and thank you again. May you continue to provide such wonderful care to other families."
"Our family just wanted to extend our appreciation to the excellent staff that cared for and assisted with the
transport of my daughter. Your competence and professionalism offered our family a sense of security during an
otherwise chaotic time. Thanks for all you do."
"On behalf of my family, I would like to thank you for your expertise and prompt actions when transporting my brother
from a hospital in Willits to one in Santa Rosa. He is now home with a good prognosis for recovery. We are so grateful
to you."
"I would like to say how appreciative and grateful I am for REACH. Your company goes above and beyond from what is
asked, and because of that so many lives are saved."
"I was surprised to see the helicopter had already landed and within moments a small baby was flying away. I never had a chance to meet any of you, but I know my baby is alive because of you. I am thankful for your speed, skilled work, and the love that you must have to give so much to a boy so small."
"Please accept our sincere thanks for your generous support in this time of tragedy. Amazingly, the very worst of times brings out the very best in folks."
"This was the payoff to all the preparation...the life of a small child. What greater gift could any family receive?"
"We are writing to thank the crew from REACH helicopter service for their valiant efforts to aid our son, Timothy. Early in the morning, REACH responded to the emergency call to transport our son from St. Helena Hospital to Children's Hospital Oakland. We are deeply grateful for the extraordinary efforts made by this highly professional team. Please convey our deepest appreciation to each of the members of the REACH team for their brave efforts. We take comfort in knowing that people like them stand ready to help others in their time of need."
"I was evacuated from Mt. Tamalpais to Petaluma Valley Hospital by one of your helicopters. I would like to offer my thanks and compliments to your crew. They were very effective and competent in my rescue and deserve commendation for the quality of their efforts."
"We can't say enough for all you did for my son, Tim, after his motorcycle accident. He's doing incredibly well. We're all enjoying a full recovery."
"On Friday, I lay in the dirt on the upper east ridge at Olema. I'd been horse-mashed and felt it. I was also suffering terribly from helplessness. Thank you, Jane. Thank you, Jim. Thank you, Tom. Words can't express the admiration, gratitude and respect I feel for you three. Yes, it's your job and you're paid for it as I am for mine, but you people went beyond the job. Your kindness, optimism and concern for me, a wrecked stranger in a shaky frame of mind, went straight to my heart where we truly live."
"You attended to and airlifted a two year old girl... in no small part thanks to your expertise, professionalism, true caring, and SPEED a wonderful and healthy, 100% (doctor certified) normal four year old and her forever grateful parents say 'thank you'."
"Thank you for the wonderful, professional care that you gave to our son. He's back to his ol' self again."
"Just a quick note to thank you once again for your help in arranging for a plane to bring Patrick to Los Angeles after his biking accident last month. He had surgery a few hours after arrival and, happily, has just started Stanford Business School (albeit on crutches until his hip has fully mended!). Everyone at Mediplane with whom I dealt that evening, both your office staff and your flight crew, were extraordinarily competent and dedicated. They were superb."
"Your response to my brother's need is what helped save his life. At the time you were contacted, the doctor had given my brother only a few hours to live. With your flight to the hospital, he was able to be with the liver transplant team. The flight crew, dispatcher, pilot and everyone else involved in your organization responded with the immediacy for which the moment called. The skill and care that was shown by your flight crew members was felt very strongly by all of the family members."
