A Community Approach to Success
At REACH we believe we have a responsibility to positively impact the communities we serve. In an effort to build strong community partnerships, REACH encourages employees to participate in local events and become active members of service groups and charities. We enthusiastically help raise funds for worthy causes that enhance the quality of life for our communities.
Dr. John L. McDonald "JUST GO!" 5K & 10K Fun Run/Walk – Sunday, April 25, 2010
Each spring since 2000, REACH has coordinated the Dr. John L. McDonald "JUST GO!" 5K & 10K Fun Run/Walk named in honor of REACH's founder. All proceeds go directly to the John L. McDonald, M.D. Paramedic Education Scholarship, established by the McDonald family and the Santa Rosa Junior College Foundation. Each year two paramedic students receive the scholarship. This carries on Dr. McDonald's legacy by helping to train future generations of paramedics. Last year we raised a total of $5,186.
Congratulations to all the runners and walkers at this year's event. The results are in!

Conferences
REACH offers two annual conferences: The NorCal Trauma Conference, focusing on adult and pediatric trauma, and the California Pediatric Emergency Care Conference, focusing on pediatric medical and trauma care. These conferences attract nationally-recognized speakers, providing valuable education for EMTs, paramedics and nurses. REACH has sponsored these conferences since 1991.
This year, we are offering REACH on Tour. These one-day conferences cover important healthcare topics facing the EMS industry: Pediatric Respiratory Emergencies, Acute Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Stroke, Ballistics/Penetrating Injuries, Helicopter Safety, Submersion Injuries, Cardiac–The Evolving MI, and Special Needs Children. Completion of the conference provides seven CEUs. The conferences will be held throughout California and Oregon. If you are interested in being on our mailing list, please email us. To view the latest schedule, visit our REACH on Tour conferences page.
Snoopy and Woodstock Statues

In 2005, the city of Santa Rosa created an event called "It's Your Town, Charlie Brown" to honor Charles Schulz, creator of the famed PEANUTS comic strip. The tribute featured 55 statues of Charlie Brown placed throughout Santa Rosa, each uniquely painted by a different Sonoma County artist. The homage attracted a record number of tourists from around the globe who combed the city searching for each statue. In 2006, the city followed up the successful event with Woodstock, and then had the final event in 2007 with 75 Snoopy statues scattered around town. REACH sponsored a statue of both "Lifesaver" Woodstock and "Dr. J Cool" Snoopy, created by artist Mary Hopper. Both are on display at our REACH 1 / Maintenance crew base at 2360 Becker Boulevard in Santa Rosa, California.
